Collections Intern

Supervisor: Collections Staff

The San Diego Museum of Man is seeking interns to assist Collections Department Staff as digitization coordinators, textile cleaners, and textile photography assistants. Candidates will be highly organized with an interest in anthropology, museums and collections management. Candidate holding or in the process of completing a degree in art history, anthropology, museum studies, or similar field preferred. Previous museum experience or collections handling experience is a plus, but not necessary.

Time Commitment: Internship will be 6-10 hours per week.

Graphic Design Intern

Supervisor: Exhibits and Graphics Coordinator

The San Diego Museum of Man Exhibits Department requests a graphic design intern. Projects would include the design and production of exhibit elements, marketing collateral, facility signage, web graphics, and various other tasks relating to departmental operations. Candidate would hold a BA in Graphic Design or similar field, or be in the process of completing said degree. Must have the ability to work independently and efficiently, be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, and maintain very organized, clean files. Professional standards for conduct and output apply. Candidate will report to Exhibits and Graphics Coordinator. Course credit available. 

Time Commitment: Internship will be 8-10 hours/week.
